for consulting with a Clinical Sport Psychologist can
be roughly divided into four categories:

Development - Enhancing
and developing to the optimum, the psychological (mental)
aspects of a sport performance.

Dysfunction
- Overcoming
a barrier or a slump in performance for which there
are no apparent physical (non-psychological) reasons.

Impairment –
Provision
of psychological therapy for someone suffering from
psychological, emotional or mental health difficulties
where those symptoms are adversely affecting sport
performance. This may be to the point where performance
has completely broken down.

– Counselling
and support for someone seeking to cope with the many
stressor s that might accompany a termination of a
sporting career.
